so awesome!
Our little BooBoo - Lillian Mae. Sandra had an OB appointment this week. She is now 28 weeks along and in the final stretch. They did another ultra-sound. And this time they also did a 3D ultra-sound.
This is God's art.
And she looks just like Ryan.
oh baby....
We start Lamaze classes next week. Ryan bought the perfect little outfit to bring BooBoo home in and a stroller/carseat combo. His family has also donated a baby swing. The clothes and bedding piles are growing. I have realized the blessing of having children when you are just starting out in life. You don't own anything else and you have plenty of room for baby stuff. Some things are going to have to go.... (I'm thinking things like..... the dishwasher so we will have room for a high chair.)
not for the faint of stomach
I had a nice infection settle in a cyst I had been ignoring on my back since last summer. The cyst originally was the size of a dried pea. It was right between my shoulder blades.
Then I ignored the infection for several weeks. My dried pea grew to egg size. Then, it - according to my doctor - exploded. Instead of a simple small extraction - there was lots of digging and searching for all the pieces.
And the final numbers are?
3 ruined shirts. Very grossly ruined I might add.
2 weeks of antibiotics.
2 layers of stitches. 2 below - 4 above.
2 doctor appointments and I still have to go back to get the stitches out.
1 week of work missed.
And the lesson? Don't put off 'til tomorrow what you can obviously put of for months, but then it will waste a lot more of your time.
home sweet home
I spent my week off recovering in our camper at the KOA. Lots of sleeping was invloved. And working up to being able to use both arms with out an sharp pain between my shoulder blades.....
The camper is almost through the repairs. All the water leaks seemed to be stopped. Just the rebuilding of the entertainment center remains.
let there be light
But it won't happen in my world soon. I'm now working overnight until Christmas is set. And my next day off will be - when Christmas is set.
fruit of the vine
I took Randy to a wine tasting. It was like going with Larry the cable guy. We discovered a palatable California vineyard. (I usually prefer Australain and New Zealand) A chardonnay I actually liked (not my usual taste). And a gourmet cheese that is pure delight and almost better than chocolate.
I have also discovered that a good tawny port is the perfect offering on a chilly evening around the campfire.

Oops!
I missed a whole month! And I was thinking Kara was waiting a long time between updates!
be careful what you wish for.......
In my last update I was really wishing Sandra could get another ultrasound - but was too healthy to do so. On the eve of her last appointment she mentioned the baby hadn't moved much for a couple of days. Not a good thing. Baby BooBoo's heart rate was still good and strong. The doctor put her on a fetal monitor. They did many things that would stimulate the baby, raise the heart rate and get BooBoo to moving. Nothing changed. So they did an ultrasound. BooBoo was sleeping soundly. They rolled Sandra, put her feet up and head down. BooBoo was not to be bothered, but did stretch out a few times. The doctor say that BooBoo appears to be right on track - just lazy.
And our BooBoo will be christened Lilly! It's a girl!
Ryan's mom, Jackie, sent home his baby book and photos. He was a cute little guy!
moving it all over - again
We did some serious moving the house all around - again. Rand and I built Willie a small false wall in his entertainment room and moved his bed down. The bedroom upstairs is for Lilly now. Sandra and Ryan aren't 'nesting' near as much as I am. I feel better having a room for baby now. The rest of the house is chaos. We have way too much furniture. And still gaining! I hope to have the carpets professionally cleaned this month. BooBoo's parents are in charge of decorating the nursery. I don't think they understand how quickly time is flying by. Hurry! Sandra has now entered the third trimester of her pregnancy. We toured all three local hospitals and have chosen Mercy for the delivery. Next up is to sign up for birthing classes. I bought a buttload of diaper wipes on clearance (get it - butt-load?) and the small start of many diapers to come. And we have started the pink clothes collection. I hit Target the day we found out and Sandra and I hit a Salvation Army once.
I'm regressing.....
Rand and I took our last vacation of the year. Once again we traveled to our favorite KOA. It was lovely do-nothing week of nightly campfires, friends and laughter. We played practical jokes on each other and shared meals. It was very hard to go home.
We also spent time on the phone with Imperial Campers and the Sprinter company. We had more than our share of more new camper blues as we celebrated our first 90 days with our toy. Most of it involved water and where water could come from and what damage that could do. Our camper has spent two weeks in the shop. We are supposed to have it back for this coming weekend.
The folks joined us for the last weekend in their new toy. A Dolphin motorhome. OohAhh!
Eric and Renee had a beautiful wedding in a beautiful spot.
Sandra has a job! She is working for a daycare called Bear Basics. She works with toddlers ages 7mth - 18mth.
Will's senior pictures are taken and his cap, gown and announcements are ordered.
still the same.....
Even though we couldn't camp last weekend we did join the gang around the campfire. The discussion turned to wine and most of the crowd were of the Morgan David variety. I discovered Ed appreciates a good wine as much as I do. He and I shared a couple of bottles he produced from his camper. And real glass wine glasses. I must raise my camping standards. By the end of the evening and two bottles of wine (an austarlian shiraz and luna de luna) he had introduced me to Tequila shooters. I wasn't sure about trying it, but when you're holding a shot glass full of something and somebody counts to three - you can't not do it. Everytime!
Rob at this point is complaining because I haven't included enough links. I decided it was more important to update than link at this point. And I'm tired. I'll try to do better next time.
