Photo Friday - Orange

Orange is the predominate color of our squirrels in central Iowa.

This furry friend is a regular thief of our bird feeders. We do have a squirrel feeder out as well. But alas; it is not stocked with the tasty sunflower seeds I use to lure the cardinals.
Other daily regulars include a ground squirrel, rabbit, mice, doves, butterflies, finches (of many colors), black birds, and more sparrows than we can count. Occasionally, we see a hummingbird - of which I'm working very hard to improve the number of with new feeders this year.
All this is done in a 10'x10' area I call my nature preserve. It is nestled in the corner of our screened room, and the house (our bedroom window overlooks) and guarded on the other side by lilac bushes.
