It's not quite bikini season Posted by Hello

When Lilly was born we actually had her in preemie diapers for a few days. Such a tiny butt! Then she graduated to newborn size - which served her first month or so - until today. Pictured above is the very last diaper of that size. I don't think I could have put her in another one - I think she was growing an inch an hour today!
Below is Lilly in her new size 1 diapers! Posted by Hello

You will also note in the first picture she is wearing a cute top - her jeans are off to the side for the diaper change. In the bottom picture all those clothes are missing. Following the first picture Lilly and Gramma laid down for a nap. The small diaper didn't make it quite through nap time - neither did the outfit. Gramma and the bed were mercifully missed - this time!
The other night I went to her room (answering her call for a 3am Gramma visit), by night-light only reached into the cradle, placed my hands under her to lift, and grew a little weak in the knees as I realized "It was all poo under there!" and cold and gross and slimy. Lilly wasn't all that unhappy. Just hungry.
Other Lilly milestones.
Miss Lilly is definitely a whistling tooter. It happens on a regular basis. So does the snoring. Her acne has been complimented by the addition of a nice eczema. She also got a bit colicky this week. I'm still treating her skin with products from Gentle Naturals. I'm also trying a few Burt Bees Baby Bee products. Her skin has good days and bad days - but I think we are winning inch by inch. I finally found Gripe Water for her colic. It has been a long search, but well worth it. If only this had been available in the USA when Rob was a baby. He might have more siblings! I wanted to find it local - for emergencies sake. Many stores later it was finally found at Campbells Nutrition Center.
Lilly is starting to "talk" quite a bit. Her favorite word is Ga. I think she is trying to say Gamma.

Following the weekend party.......

What a pretty color! Freshly dressed for the day, fed and zonked out. Posted by Hello
The shower was busy and crowded and fun - filling about four rooms of our small house! It was great fun and lasted until after dark. Thank you to everyone who attended, helped out, and sent gifts.
Lilly - who has had the most beautiful baby complexion I have ever seen - -chose the day of her shower to start her baby acne.
By Sunday - it was much worse and looking a little more like eczema - I sent Uncle Willie out for Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream. The Gentle Naturals has an extended line of baby care products - which so far, I am very fond of! We started with the Tummy Soother which seems to work like a miracle! The line also carries a sunscreen which I'm sure we will be getting as well!
Monday: the cream was helping, but it was requiring a diligent application process.
Miss Lilly had her doctor re-check yesterday. Her ears are now fine.
She weighed in at a very healthy 9lbs, 3 oz. and was 21" long.
He recommended adding a .5% hydrocortizone cream to help some of the inflammation areas - just for a couple of days. It has helped tremendously.
Last night Lilly started out in a floral sleeper. Less than an hour later she filled her diaper - up to her neckline. One bath later and into a sweet pink ever-so-soft Carters micro-fleece sleeping bag. She has never slept better. I think it was her pjs.

A little later that morning.....

Next on our fashion show - still pretty in pink! These are still the same socks from the previous outfit. They are only thing that was able to stay the same! It was a "spewing" thing.Posted by Hello

And outift #3 or #4 depending if you count what she woke up in
This sleeper lasted until bath time - which happened to coincide with the NEED of an outfit change! Posted by Hello

And after her bath she went back into another nice pink fluffy Carter's fleece sleeping bag - which she seems to sleep very well in!

Miss Lilly napping Posted by Hello
Lilly and her folks went to Fort Dodge last weekend. Lilly got to spend a couple of days with her other grandma and visiting relatives.
While they were gone, I made a native style baby sling and a ring sling. Both were from a wonderful batik fabric I found on eBay. Green with pink fishes. I lined the native sling with a pink tied dyed jersey from my own collection of materials. I took the picture of sleeping Lilly above while she was sleeping in the native style sling (I was wearing). I used to sling Sandra all the time. A nice way to keep baby close, happy, and still get the housework done.
We've had a very busy few days.
I worked for a few hours yesterday. Fun to see everyone again and a bit tiring. I just cashiered. Our Frigidaire front washer broke - only a few months off warranty of course. The parts alone were well over $200 - and not available for a few days. We have six people living in this house - in a few days is not an option. And that was just parts cost was with Rand doing the work. Imagine if we had to pay someone to travel to the house and do the work! We went to American and got a new Whirlpool washer yesterday - for the same cost of the repairs of the other. We choose it by saying "show us every Whirlpool you have in stock - we're taking one home now" - and then choosing the cheapest. And we have a brand brand new warranty to go with it. And I picked up a couple of chairs on sale for the "office". I finally have a chair in front of the computer I can rock a baby and sleep in!
After that we had to go to Super T for the d's: drugs, dishsoap, downy, dog food.......
The carpet cleaners came this morning. The floors are ready for the newest rug rat. The plumber came this afternoon to rooter out the main drain. Hopefully this will take care off all the back-up problems in the shower downstairs. And he said it could even cure what we refer to as the "Willie blues".
I'm thinking Lilly may be Baby re-incarnate. Folks - the whistling tooter is back!
