Lilly walked today!
Lilly walked today!
Lilly walked today!

And now, time for something shiney!

I had a couple of visitors yesterday.

Ashley and Anna stopped in. Anna is six weeks old now!

Big Yawn!

Anna is growing like a weed and her hair is turning quite red as it grows out.

A smile and a wink!

Laughing at with Willie!

Anna is quite a happy baby and lets the family sleep most nights. She is quite a vigorous eater and will down 6 oz or better - In a matter of seconds! Anna is always quite happy to see me and will always fill a diaper upon arrival. I guess you could say she is so happy to see me - she could sh*t!

The rest of yesterday I spent sewing. Then ripping out what I just sewed. Eventually moving onto another area to stitch, and then ripping it out.
I seemed to be a dyslexic seamstress yesterday.
Right, left, inside, outside,...Didn't make much difference on what the instructions said - I usually did something else. Then ripped it out and did it right. I couldn't put "right sides together" to save my soul.
I did finally get the little pink romper done, but I can't say it is an example of my best work.
My new sewing mantra is "I hate snap tape".
I'm not even real fond of snaps. I think buttons are so much prettier.
Next time I'm ignoring the instructions and doing my own thing with the romper.
I was up most of the night with pain. When Rand got up in the early A.M., he suggested I take the "magic" pill. It did it's magic and I got some rest.
I spent today being quiet and reorganizing my sewing notions. Trying to decide my next few projects. I'm moving on to short sets for Lilly.
I get to open the next couple of mornings. I don't have a day off until next Thursday. Rand doesn't have any days off in the foreseeable future - except for the Saturday after Rob's graduation. We're helping him move.

It snowed today!
That's not fair or funny - It's the end of April. I got covered with snow leaving work to go to my Jeep. By the time I got home it had stopped, so no pictures.
My lilacs are about to hit full bloom (and looking marvelous this year). I would like to be able to open the doors and windows and let their scent fill the house. Hopefully it will do some warming up this week.
This past Sunday, we attended a Glazebrook family dinner at Donna's. I was in quite a bit of pain before we left and was worried about the trip. I finally remembered my new doctor had given me something "stronger" for the really bad days. (I don't want to say what it is here to keep down search hits for it) I took one magical pill and slept for half the trip. By the time we got there I was feeling much better. Usually this medication can put me out for hours. I figure when it is really applying itself to pain, nothing is left over for side effects.
The reason for the dinner was Rod, Angie and boys' visit to Iowa. Gramps, Uncle Richard, and cousin Deb were there. As was Rick, Linda, and Kyle; Crissy and her fiance, Robbie. Of course, Rand and I and even our Rob showed. I was there with my new camera, but managed to forget it about it for most of the day. I did get pictures of the boys.

My new camera arrived! My new camera arrived!
It is another Fuji - this time the A350. It is an upgrade from the digital I have had for years. I wanted to stick to Fuji. My last one has served me well and I don't have to "re-learn" too much to be able to function with this one. I ordered this one online - got a great deal!
The pictures below were all taken before I read the instructions!
Enjoy!
And Happy Earth Day!

Now, it's over here. Posted by Picasa

Camper had just broke a rather large planter. Doesn't look to bothered by it. Posted by Picasa

Camper sews! Posted by Picasa

As you can see, Camper must put herself in the middle of what ever I am working on. Occasionally, she takes a bite out of the pattern if I'm not paying attention. She did try to drag this piece of fabric off the table before I was done pinning.
Mom visited this morning and I gave her a quick trim.
I ended up, quite accidently, wasting the entire afternoon at a fabric store. Our neighborhood source didn't have a certain notion I needed. I ended up on the west side of town in a much bigger store - in complete awe!

Easter snip
"Her name is not Baby, Boy"

"My name is not Boy!"
That was the conversation as I tried to get Wyatt to call Lilly by name. Never did work.
I have several pictures of the weekend posted below.
We had a wonderful weekend with Sandra and Lilly here.

I started my weekend off with a visit to my new rhuematoid doctor, Dr. Harts. She is awesome! Just for starters - she tripled the dosage one of my pain meds. And gave me something stronger for the occasional really bad flare ups. I got one of the most thorough exams I have ever had. She is re-running about every blood test I have ever had to check current numbers.
She also detected a heart murmer. That was new.
An ultrasound of my heart yesterday confirms I have a couple of valves leaking.
Dr. Harts believes it to be from my sleep apnea. Years of not breathing at night put the heart under a lot of stress.

My folks went to Fort Dodge to pick Sandra and Lilly up. Lilly got to charm them on the entire trip down. Lilly seemed as happy to see me again as I was her! Lilly's newest fun thing to do is to feed me. Lilly is very independent and wants to feed herself. Now she wants to help me. It started in full force with pizza. Sandra had cut up Lilly's into bite size pieces. She was quite interest in my full slices and I let her take bites off of them. She returned the favor in kind. Lilly would take one of her pieces, suck the cheese and sauce off of it and then feed the rest to me. Cold, slimy, spit covered.....what we will do for love!
That's how Easter went too. Lilly started out in a high chair, but ended up on my lap feeding me - after the food had already done time in her mouth.
Someone at work asked if I had over-ate at Easter dinner. My reply? "Not hardly!"
I finally got Don and Mo's wedding quilt finished and given to them. You want to make sure the marriage is going to last for these heirloom gifts. Now all these old men are on television talking about how much they like to visit MO at night. And people are on telvision saying MO really knows how to have a good time.
crap - my pills just hit....bedtime!

The Easter egg hunt at Great Grandpa and Grandma's and things are not as they appear. Lilly was not attempting to eat the egg. She actually was throwing it off the porch in pure delight! Posted by Picasa

What the Easter Bunny left for Lilly. This thing ended up being about three times bigger than Gramps and I expected. As we were putting it together, we kept moving it to find more room for it. Posted by Picasa

Lilly and her mommy are home for Easter. Ryan had to work the whole weekend. Lilly is playing with a favorite toy here - a basket filled with home-made quilted coasters. Posted by Picasa
